The Verdict

After much deliberation and political wrangling the Verdict is finally in.
We would like to congratulate Albert (Isaac) Akerman on his appointment as Mayor of Lakewood for the year 2013.

Mayor Akerman took the oath of office in a ceremony held at the municipal court this morning.

Also sworn in at that ceremony was committee men Menashe Miller and Meir Lichtenstein each receiving a 3 year sentence.

Finally, taking the oath of office as Deputy Mayor was Steven Langert, receiving a 1 year sentence pending further investigation.

  1. So Steve extracted from them his price.
The Mayors office must cary respect that goes with it.
There was a surprise that there was any wrangling "who will be Mayor?" The Vaad says they occupy that seat for many years already. That's why the vaad wanted some other patsy in there.
Well Mayor you have less than a year to prove that you occupy that seat.
Off & running from the word go.

  2. The mood at the pre ceremony was very somber amogst the people who came early in hopes of seeing real reform taking place, only to find out that some last minute strong arming and coercion, scared Maneshe away from taking the Deputy position that he already agreed to earlier.
